My name is Julie Megaw and I am an Educational Psychologist specialising in the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, particularly regarding ‘challenging behaviour’.
I founded Transform Together as a training and consultancy for the collaborative support and development of people who interact or work with children and young people - teachers and other professionals, school staff, youth workers, parents and carers. This came about from my understanding of the immense and sometimes daunting and disillusioning challenge that these adults often face and the incredible impact that they have on the social, emotional and behavioural outcomes of children and young people.
Transform Together is based on the understanding that through us, as adults, training and consulting collaboratively together, relationships with children and young people can be transformed to increase prosocial behaviour and reduce conflict. My passion is to contribute, as I am able, to this transformation, recognising the lifelong implications for children, their families, schools, communities, societies and even peace in the world.
The training, consulting and therapeutic services I provide are tailored on an individual basis to specifically meet your personal or organisational needs. Proven and effective approaches are used that provide the framework and opportunity for each individual or organisation to make practical and transformative changes towards the interactions and relationships they wish for as parent, carer, teacher or organisation. My therapeutic work with children and young people (sometimes jointly involving those around them) provides experiential opportunities for them to explore preferred and more useful identities and actions. All my work is taken from many years of personal experience and practical application of theory to build relationships and reduce and transform conflict.
Availability permitting, services are provided across the United Kingdom and the Western and Eastern Cape, South Africa as well as in other areas or countries by arrangement.
